Using IoT Sensor Technologies to Reduce Waste and Improve Sustainability in Artisanal Fish Farming in Southern Brazil

Modern digital technologies have the great potential to improve sustainability of fish farming in artisanal fisheries. However, spite popularity these for other parts world, Brazil still lags behind. To fill this gap, study has conducted first field implementing IoT sensor Southern and documents experiences paper. More specifically, it discusses developing sustainable fisheries infrastructure using with reference southern Brazil, where explores use technology aquaculture its effectiveness reducing waste improving productivity. The overarching goal project is demonstrate how simple data collection sensors analysis can support freshwater farms beyond increase production, reduce waste, thereby their sustainability. pilot implementation demonstrated increasing productivity fisheries, (e.g., loss farmed fish, optimised feeding feeds), aquaculture.
